When is the 2017 conference?

CCME 2017 pre-conference events will begin on Friday, April 28, 2017, with actual conference events beginning on Saturday, April 29, 2017.

What is the conference schedule?

The full conference schedule will be released online in early 2017, but you can find the at a glance schedule here.

Where is the conference held?

CCME 2017 will be held in Winnipeg, MB, at both the RBC Convention Centre, and the Delta Hotels Winnipeg. 

What topics will be covered?

The theme for CCME 2017 is Rethinking Teaching and Learning, while workshops, oral presentations and poster presentations fall under the general themes of Assessment, Curriculum, Learning Outcomes, or Teaching and Learning.

Who should attend?

We are happy to welcome our international colleagues and other partners including students, other health educators, health education researchers, administrators, liscensing and credentialing organizations and governments, to come and share their experiences in medical educaiton across the learning continuum (from undergraduate to postgraduate to continuing professional development) 

Why attend?

CCME provides an opportunity for medical educators to share their ideas, learn, and network with others in their field.

How can I register to attend?

You can register online here, or you can register onsite at CCME

How can I become a presenter?

You can submit to present in several categories – the Education Research Symposium, pre-conference workshops, oral presentations, poster presentations or workshops. Abstract submissions can be made here between May 30, 2016 and September 19, 2016 for CCME 2017. If you have missed the deadline for CCME 2017, the CCME 2018 Abstract Submissions will open in May 2017.

How can I become an exhibitor?

How do I add a workshop to my registration? Are workshops included in conference registration?

All workshops, oral presentations and poster presentations are included in your registration fee, as well as all major sessions. All workshops, oral presentations and poster presentations are first come, first served, and do not require you to sign up in advance.

I only want to attend one day of the conference, is that possible?

Absolutely! The one-day conference fee is $325 before February 29, 2017, or $395 after March 1 2017, for Friday April 28 – Tuesday May 2.

When will the exhibit hall be open?

Saturday April 29, 2017 17:30 to 18:30 (During Opening Reception), Sunday April 30, 2017 7:30 to 15:00 and Monday, May 1, 2017 7:30 to 15:00

Will I receive a certificate of attendance?

After the conference, a final evaluation will be sent to you – upon your completion of the evaluation, you will be sent your certificate.

What are the differences between the types of sessions?

A poster presentation, or facilitated poster session, is when the authors of the posters  present their findings. They are in groups, divided by theme, of up to 12 presenters. These group sessions last for 90 minutes, and are facilitated by a volunteer . Each presentations lasts for 5 minutes, with 2-3 minutes for questions after. Once a presentation is finished, you move on to the next poster in that grouping.

An oral presentation is a group of up to 6 individual presenters that have been grouped together based on theme and or topic. Each presenter has 10 minutes to present, and 5 minutes for questions.

A workshop is a 90 minute presentation by 1 group of people on 1 topic.

What does my registration fee include?

Your fee includes all Workshops, oral presentations, poster presentations, major sessions, breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and any open meetings. If you are going to be eating breakfast, lunch, or snacks provided by the conference, please indicate this on your registration form.

Can I submit my abstract late?

Unfortunately, because of the number of submissions we get every year, we cannot offer any extensions for any submissions.
